Housed in a renovated railway workshop, Eveleigh Market is held every Saturday at the heritage listed Eveleigh Railyards just near Redfern Station. An assemblage of organic and sustainable produce can be bought from 80 regular stall holders from across the state. Organic pasta to artisan cheese and bread, free-range meats and smallgoods, local wine and coffee and even fresh flowers to take home with you. These guys are all passionate about their product and are more than happy to have a chat and give you insight into their gourmet world. Got a blunt knife? Bring it along to have it properly sharpened for just $5.

… delicious sweet and savoury pastries

… expertly made coffee
… meats and smallgoods
… artisan breads
… orgasmic dips, yoghurts, salsa and sweets
… luscious mushrooms
… flowers to brighten the home

Some great photos here! I’ve been meaning to visit for a while. Looks like there’s lots to see, eat and buy!

I can’t believe I’ve been in Erko for 3 months and I’ve never been here. I commute past Eveleigh Market every day but never stopped in on a Saturday when there’s actually something going on!

Looks like a fantastic market; I’m delighted that Sydney & Australia has a good network of farmer’s markets that are still going strong – back home in England they are few and far between, as the Supermarkets are gradually taking over the country.
