Reuben – Wagyu corned beef, Swiss & sauerkraut $14
I never thought the day would come, but this particular sandwich seems to have out-done any of the Reuben’s I’ve tried in Sydney. You have the option of bread or bagel. My choice is light sourdough rye. Without even taking a bite, I’m impressed by its size. It stands high with a very decent amount of fillings. Plenty of warm meat and sauerkraut, melted cheese and sliced pickles. The bread is soft and untoasted and easy to bite into and every flavour is balanced perfectly. Two thumbs up here, my friends. On a second visitation, I did pick up on some variations. My most recent Reuben at Lox contained a sauerkraut made using red cabbage, not white, and it also had flecks of ginger through it. The ginger was a little distracting, but overall the sandwich was really good.
