Ingredients
  

Shrimp Taco Ingredients

  • 8 tortillas corn tortillas, flour tortillas, or taco shells
  • 1 pound shrimp peeled and deveined, tails removed
  • 1 cup cotija cheese crumbles

Seasoning Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Chipotle Sauce Ingredients

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sour cream or fresh crema
  • 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Juice from ½ lime

Taco Toppings

  • 2 heirloom tomatoes diced
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 1 avocado sliced
  • ½ red onion diced
  • 1 jalapeno diced

Instructions
 

  • Set the skillet on the stovetop over medium heat and drizzle olive oil
  • Place the shrimp in a large bowl, and in a smaller bowl, combine the ingredients for the seasoning
  • Sprinkle the seasoning ingredients over the shrimp, then stir to cover the shrimp
  • Place the shrimp in the skillet and sauté them on both sides for a total of 8 to 10 minutes, then set to the side
  • In another bowl combine the ingredients for the chipotle sauce, stirring well
  • Prepare the toppings and set them on the side and warm the tortillas
  • Assemble the tacos by placing a warm tortilla on the plate, spreading some chipotle sauce over the center,then add shrimp to cover the chipotle sauce, sprinkle with crumbled cheese, and finish off with your choice of toppings
  • Enjoy!
